The content branch says what to study. The proof branch says what result to reach. A milestone belongs to a program's shared pool; a path selects and orders milestones. A lesson can contribute to a milestone without moving under it. Owner/admin author milestones; a program director with organization-scoped assignment may operate paths within that scope.
| Object | In Mike Academy | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Lesson | First tool call | Teaches a technique; lives in the course outline |
| Contribution | That lesson prepares Ship a working agent | Connects teaching to the outcome; points to a lesson or resource |
| Milestone | Ship a working agent | Names the outcome and success criteria |
| Path | Agentic AI Developer journey | Orders selected milestones for each enrollment |
As an owner/admin, open Agentic AI Developer → Milestones and create Ship a working agent. Give it a testable objective: the agent calls a tool and handles its result. State the evidence that would count. The milestone enters the program's shared pool; Milestones API exposes creation and ordering.
Attach First tool call as a contribution. The lesson stays in Build an agent → Tool calling; the contribution only says that it prepares this outcome. An API contribution targets exactly one lesson or resource. Attach contribution details that choice.
In Paths, select milestones from the program's pool and order them. A path can use only a subset, so inspect the sequence before promoting a version for future enrollments. The Paths API exposes alternative paths, immutable versions and primary promotion. Add the Submit your agent demo task to Ship a working agent when the outcome should require member evidence. A contribution alone is neither a submission nor a reviewed task.
| Path change | Existing enrollment | Future enrollment |
|---|---|---|
| Save a new version | Keeps its assigned version | Continues using the current primary version until promotion |
| Promote a version | Does not switch paths | Receives the newly primary version |
| Reorder courses/lessons | Alters the content outline | Does not itself create a new path version |
Warning
If an enrolled member still sees the previous milestone order, inspect the path version stored on that enrollment. Promoting a path version affects future enrollments, not existing ones. Do not “fix” an old enrollment by silently assuming the primary path overwrote it.
The Paths API lists the supported version operations. Tasks and deliverables specify the evidence within each milestone. Cohorts and groups organize people independently of path version.
